2011年2月德國通貨膨脹率達到2.1%

依據德國聯邦統計局最新修正資料指出，德國2011年2月份通貨膨脹率由原先預期的2.0%提高至2.1%，消費指數達到2008年10月以來的最高峰。為制止歐元區通貨膨脹繼續升高，歐洲中央銀行計畫在2011年4月份升息。
其中能源價格受到衝擊最大，輕燃油價格比2010年2月高出3分之1，柴油價格成長20.4%，超級汽油價格則上升9.2%，原因是由於原油產區如黎巴嫩等阿拉伯國家政情不穩導致，又電力價格增加7.5%，天然氣價格上漲3.5%，食物價格成長3.4%。
目前通貨膨脹直線上升，未來幾週將會繼續攀升，萊茵蘭-威斯特伐利亞經濟研究所（Rheinisch-Westfälische Institut für Wirtschaftsforschung, RWI)預期，2011年通貨膨脹率將達2.5%，2012年相差不遠達2.4%。又2011年2月之躉售物價比去年同月增加10.8%，這顯示出躉售物價高漲影響人民生活支出費用增加，因為躉售物價被視為人民生活費用的早期指標，也作為零售物價的參考價格。
